I have been thinking about this – how to show ‘the positioning of two opposing things which are, in fact, inherently connected,’ like weekend
Another haphazard attempt, like two arcs intersecting at right angles to form beautiful furniture.
Curiosity is the answer; repetition is also a draw. I've just sorted through a lot of things from the online world to send to myself—it feels like packing luggage.
At the back door of free form, the questions we leave behind become part of the solution.
This exhibition may carry traces of reflections from early 2024, when I was exploring the application and inversion of packaging logic. Yet throughout that entire year, I encountered no such life materials. This year, amidst the frequent routines of the flower shop, it found its practice—the allure of shipping and boxing, and the leftover floral materials themselves. They granted me unprecedented hands-on experiences, surpassing the total from my nine years in academia.
The description of this beautiful piece of furniture—two arcs intersecting vertically—comes from my description of Christopher Stuart's Alt Table, recommended by Lin, An-Peng. The repetition of chess moves was learned from Wang, Ru-Xuan's chess training this year. “Free form” is a captivating term, originating from Charlotte Perriand's A free form table—its name surprisingly not being “freestyle.”
